Dr. Vithalrao Vikhe Patil Foundation’s Medical College and Hospital, Ahilyanagar is affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences and is recognized by the Medical Council of India.
Our institution has grown spectacularly achieving notable success in many directions and reached up to present stage since it was started in 2004. Our undergraduate intake capacity is 200. We are running postgraduate courses in 10 disciplines and have 29 degrees recognized by the MCI along with three department had PhD degrees.
Our 800 bedded Hospital has renewed our focus, heightened our energy and enthusiasm and increased our commitment to advance our institute into becoming one of the premiere health care centers in the country. With its state of art technology and the team of efficient consultants and paramedical personnel, it is a landmark in medical diagnosis and treatment.
We aim to equip our students with knowledge and information essential to make them complete physicians, sensitive to their environment and having adequate capacity to respond to all challenges.
At our Medical College, we cater to the needs of students of high quality Medical Education and training and we wish the students to develop as a complete Doctor- full of sympathy and empathy for the suffering humanity.
We have a dedicated and highly qualified teaching faculty who at every step are ready to counsel the students. An in-built system of continuous internal assessment helps the students to keep abreast with the teaching and simultaneous self-evaluation.
Sports and recreational facilities provide e students opportunities to de-stress and relax. There is a big library with large number of books and journals. Hostels provide good accommodation facilities, we care for good health and overall development.

Dr. Vijay Balkrishna Patil is an accomplished medical academician, healthcare administrator, forensic medicine specialist, researcher and social worker with 26+ years of teaching experience and 15+ years of administrative experience. He currently serves as Dean and Professor Department of Forensic Medicine at Dr. Vithalrao Vikhe Patil Foundation’s Medical College & Hospital, Ahilyanagar.
Dr. Patil has built a 26-year academic career in Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, he is recognised by MUHS as Professor, PG Teacher and Ph.D. Guide. His major leadership positions include Medical Director, Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust Hospital, Shirdi. At DVVPF, his responsibilities include IQAC Director, NMC Nodal Officer, institutional committee leadership, faculty and staff appointment coordination, and coordination of NMC, MUHS and DMER inspections.
Dr. Patil has undertaken several university-level responsibilities, including Chairman, MUHS Special Examination Committee (2017–2019), Chairman for MUHS LIC inspections, His healthcare and community contributions have received several recognitions, including the COVID Warrior Award, he has also received appreciation for conducting Addiction Awareness Programmes.
Dr. Patil is the Founder President of Dr. V. B. Patil Foundation Charitable Trust, an NGO working in de-addiction, rehabilitation, and community mental health. His specialised training from NIMHANS in Addiction Medicine and Community Mental Health further strengthens his contribution in this area.
Dr. Patil has contributed to research through publications in areas including Forensic Medicine, Forensic Pathology, Toxicology, Medico-Legal Practice, Medical Education, Addiction and Public Health.
